Undone can be about life's changes, friendship or people's approach to knowledge and media. It's a (self) critic. It's actually about me.
And You.
It was written in the middle of the 10's, during the Linterno years but never actually developed. The lyrics and the vocal melody have gone through severe changes during the last two years and finally completed right in the middle of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, while Lore was ill and aching because of the goddamn virus (the result of Weltschmerz, maybe?).
The graphics for the cover kind of condense the many ways the lyrics can be interpreted and are based on something that happened to him several times in his life, so... we'll explain this instead of the song:
You finally have your brand new shoes... a gift or the result of the money you saved from your usual life.
Your old ones were worn out and you had to wait to have a new pair. It's stupid but this makes you kind of happy.
And now you're sitting on the floor, swinging between your painful what-ifs and the surprisingly loud noise of the world around you, where every single member of this orchestra - trucks, traffic lights, airplanes - is perfectly discernable but can't help with sinking in your thoughts.
You glance at your brand new shoes and realize that the long awaited goods is not that special anymore: they're still clean, with brand: new undone laces, they're just the same as a few hours ago, but something happend in your life and this doesn't make sense anymore.
